Terms
These terms apply when you buy a licence for Cleanux. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable. If anything here is unclear, email us and ask before you buy.
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Cleanux is sold by Grey Fox Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Grey Fox Limited, and "you" means the person buying a licence.
A perpetual licence to use Cleanux on the Macs you own or control, for your personal or business use. One purchase, no subscription, no renewal, no account.
The licence covers Cleanux version 1 and every 1.x update we release. A future version 2, if there is one, may be a separate purchase. We will not take a feature away from a version you have already paid for.
You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself. We keep ownership of it and of everything in it.
The price is shown on the Cleanux page and is the price you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Prices are in pounds sterling. Grey Fox Limited is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and your receipt will not show a VAT amount.
Your licence key is issued automatically the moment your payment completes. It is shown to you on screen straight away and emailed to the address you gave at checkout.
If the email has not arrived within a few minutes, check your spam folder. The page shown after payment keeps your key either way, so bookmark it. If you lose both, email us and we will resend it.
The key is a line of text. The app checks its signature on your own Mac, and contacts us once, when you first enter it, to confirm the licence has not been withdrawn. Activation therefore needs an internet connection once. After that Cleanux works offline, and if it cannot reach us later, your licence keeps working.
You normally have 14 days to cancel something bought online. For digital content that right ends once supply begins, if you have asked for it to begin and understood what that means.
By buying a licence you are asking us to issue and send your key straight away, and you accept that once we have done so you lose your right to cancel.
This is why Cleanux has a 14-day free trial. The trial is the complete application with nothing withheld, and it is there so you can decide before any money changes hands. Please use it.
Because the trial lets you evaluate Cleanux fully before paying, we do not refund for a change of mind after purchase.
If something is actually wrong - Cleanux is faulty, or does not do what we have said it does - tell us within 14 days of purchase and we will put it right or refund you.
This does not affect your statutory rights.

Keys are not locked to a particular Mac. That is deliberate, and we trust you with it. If a key is published or shared widely we may stop honouring it in future versions.
Cleanux finds files and shows them to you. It never removes anything you have not selected and confirmed. Every path it can look at is published in full, items are graded, and only items graded safe to remove are ever pre-selected.
By default removals go to your Bin and can be put back, either from the Bin or from Cleanux's own Restore Centre. If you choose to delete permanently instead, Cleanux asks you to confirm, and that choice cannot be undone by us or by the software.
You are responsible for what you select. We cannot be responsible for a file you chose to delete and then wanted back. Keep backups - Time Machine or anything else - as you would with any tool that removes files.
None of this limits our responsibility if Cleanux itself is faulty and removes something it should not have.
Cleanux makes three kinds of network call and no others: checking whether a newer version of itself exists, confirming your licence when you first enter the key, and asking at most once a week whether that licence has been withdrawn. The licence calls send the key and nothing else. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no crash reporting. No list of your files, no paths, no sizes, no machine identifier and nothing else about your Mac is ever sent anywhere.
We hold your email address and name so we can send your key and find it again if you lose it. We do not sell or share it, and we will delete it on request - though if you ask us to, we will no longer be able to reissue your key.
Your payment is handled by Stripe under their own privacy policy.
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our responsibility to you where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, and your legal rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed digital content.
Where our responsibility can lawfully be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid for your licence.
We may update these terms for future purchases. The terms that apply to you are the ones published when you bought, and we will not change them retrospectively. The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
If something has gone wrong, email support@greyfoxlimited.com and a person will reply. We would much rather fix it than have you unhappy.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
